Higher Structures & Field Theory Seminar

We plan to use the BigBlueButton (BBB), running on a university server. You can simply connect via a browser; it works with the latest versions of the Firefox, Chromium, Chrome, and Safari browsers. We'd be happy to discuss and test the setup with you prior to your talk if you wish. In case BBB is not a good option for you, we will provide an alternative connection via Zoom. Both links will always be available to participants, in case of technical mishaps.
Some options for giving talks with BBB:- One can share one's screen on a computer. In particular, this works very well if you can mirror your tablet onto your computer.
- One can upload slides, which can then be annotated in the browser. However, the annotation should only be used for minor comments and one should not rely on writing a long text with this.
- Unfortunately, BBB currently does not support screen sharing from iOS devices. It is
possible to share an iPad screen by connecting the iPad to a laptop and
using an application such as Quicktime, VLC, or OBS to mirror the iPad.
You can then share the window of the application via BBB.
A tutorial for mirroring via quicktime can be found here - be aware that mirroring will result in a small delay when writing:
